No One's

Ukranian Folk Romance

Near a dense forest stands a lonely house. It is home to Marfa — a healer, a midwife, and a stubborn woman who has spent her entire life believing that she belongs to no one. But fate has a habit of telling its own stories. One day, among the forest paths, Marfa finds a wounded stranger. A man who has lost his home, his past, and a part of himself. A man who has become nobody. Thus begins the story of two people who were never looking for love. A story of trust, care, and finding a home where they least expected it. Filled with Ukrainian folklore, folk beliefs, forest legends, traditions, and the rhythms of rural life, No One's is a warm and comforting story about two stubborn souls who crossed paths and, once they did, could no longer let go.

The Beginning

Early autumn is a beautiful time of year. Especially in the forest. The trees turn golden, dressed in their finest. Flocks of birds cross the sky in neat formations. No one teaches them how, yet they know. More importantly, they know where they are going. Rain comes and goes now and then. After a long, scorching summer, rain is welcome. Mushrooms scent the air, pushing their way out of the ground. They are not there one day when you walk past, and the next, there they are. The grass grows dry. It grows less and rustles more. Around the houses, there is more work to be done. The harvest must be gathered in, preparations made for winter, everything put in order. Everything has its place. Our folk do not tolerate disorder. And rightly so. Idleness has never done anyone any good. And honest work has never ruined anyone.
